about solidago landscaping

alexSolidago Landscaping is a landscape construction firm servicing residential clients in Bend, Oregon and nearby surrounding areas.

We’re most proud of our commitment to responsible execution of our projects. Doing simple things, like onsite recycling of materials (such as incorporating leftover bricks or concrete into a garden wall) or procesing excess plant material off site into usable mulch and compost, saves money and reduces waste. And by working closely with our local irrigation retailers like Ewing and Horizon, and keeping up with the latest irrigation technology, we strive to improve water usage in the garden.

SOLIDAGO HISTORY.
After working with a few landscaping companies on the east coast, landscape designer Alex Ganiaris formed Solidago Landscaping.

Thanks to client referrals and word of mouth, Solidago Landscaping grew into a full-fledged landscape design firm that designs and maintains residential landscape spaces in and around Bend.

Increased exposure over the years has led to pro-bono opportunities, such as participation in the 2004 Flower and Garden Show with Second Nature Design, tree planting with the Friends of Urban Forest, tree care for the Cortland Avenue Merchants Association.

ABOUT ALEX. Alex happily wandered the globe during the off-season until the winter of 2003. That’s when he met the love of his life, pianist Paula Dreyer, and settled in Oakland.

An avid surfer, snowboarder, and all-around nature lover, Alex first began landscaping on Nantucket Island with Ernst Land Design in 1998. But it was through his travels to places like Greece, Ireland, New Zealand, Bali and Thailand that his appreciation for natural landscapes grew.

In 2001, Alex attended the Conway School of Landscape Design where he received a Master of Arts in Landscape Design.

In 2005, he formed Solidago Landscaping.

Alex is a licensed Oregon Landscape Professional (#100065) and currently serves as Secretary of the Central Oregon Chapter of the Oregon Landscape Contractor's Association.
